The founder and managing director Matthias Rau, who himself struggled with skin problems before founding the company, decided to develop his own active ingredient cosmetics to help other people after a long, unsuccessful search for care products for his skin problems. At the same time, Matthias Rau made sure that the products he developed were accessible to everyone by starting to offer his active ingredient cosmetics on the Internet as early as 2009.
